Cyber City Analyst


Our organization is looking for a team of cyber city analysts to ensure the safety, security, and functionality of our municipality. By ensuring that all technical and transmission equipment functions properly, cyber city analysts ensure the continuous flow of “healthy” data throughout our cities – including bio data, citizen data, and asset data.

When the city resilience team flags automated data flows as broken, faulty, or hacked, the person in this role will carry out the necessary repairs. From the smallest sensors placed on the city’s biotracking beehives to the powerful data tools located at the city’s data hub, he or she will troubleshoot equipment issues, diagnose faults, and replace components and circuitry.


Sensor data is used in nearly all of our municipal functions, including emergency services, power provisioning, and waste collection, to ensure the timely and effective delivery of critical city services. The city suffers if these systems fail. You’ll be in charge of ensuring the functionality and security of the digital systems and processes that keep our modern city running as a member of our growing team of cyber city analysts. You will be on the front lines of ensuring that interoperable data flows keep our city safe, secure, and operational.

You will diagnose and repair key city support processes in this role. The ideal candidate will be familiar with devices and data flows, data collection and processing, data transmission and reception, and antivirus and anti-malware techniques. You must be ready to travel at all times, carrying out repairs and patches to ensure that pavements glow in the dark, micro-energy installations function, and self-driving cars’ gyro-sensors communicate with national road system control.

You will also set up, maintain, and repair electronic equipment, performing checks and remedies as needed. Candidates should be technically savvy, with knowledge of micro silicon, modular architectures, data science and analytics, security, patch coding, and back-end system APIs.

As a member of our growing team of cyber city analysts, you’ll be in charge of ensuring the functionality and security of the digital systems and processes that keep our modern city running. You will be on the front lines to ensure that interoperable data flows keep our city safe, secure, and operational.


  • Investigate data flow errors from a distance. As directed by the city’s resilience center, carry out diagnostic tasks.
  • Validate data flow and integrity. Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues and data outages, plan upgrades, and work with data architects to ensure interoperability.
  • Travel, troubleshoot, and fix. Travel to and from locations where sensors and equipment are being repaired. As needed, perform repairs ranging from coding to printing parts.
  • Maintain data integrity. Create and enforce policies, as well as define and monitor data flows from faulty devices and equipment.
  • Keep interoperability in tact. In greenfield developments, begin data flow by designing configurations, directing system installations, and defining, documenting, and enforcing policy.
  • Create and implement data-driven solutions. Integrate new data from sensors/assets into the city and improve the current data flow’s resilience.
  • Perform spot checks on the equipment. Manage firewall support and administration in accordance with city cybersecurity policies.
  • Maintain your security knowledge. Working with OEM personnel, ensure the integration of the materials, methods, and tools required to ensure data delivery safety.
  • Refresh your job knowledge. Participate in educational opportunities, read city strategies and open data policies, keep personal networks up to date, and join professional organizations.


  • Agile, DevOps, and continuous integration certifications for digital engineers
